In shorthand… I got rid of more grass by spreading 10 yards of clean fill. For the love of God, that was heavier than dirt. WTH? We moved a cement bench, or rather I moved it from the front yard to the backyard, and Jim helped me set it up. Jim added the red windmill. I moved some of that clean fill from the 10-yard pile to an area behind the pool. Again, sod-b-gone! In an area left bare by removal of a dead Laurel Oak surrounded by Ginger, I spread some dirt, we planted a Live Oak and some purslane. Later, Jim added the frog on a bike. Months later, we got Jasper the Labradoodle who has his own backyard wildlife plans. He dug under the shed undoing some of my work and threatening to bring a footing down with the effort. Together Jim and I strung chicken wire along the area to prevent further digging and protect whoever was living under the shed. Then I re-covered the area with mulch.
