Ah, the grass takes as a challenge the notion, “this place isn’t for you.” It takes root and grows on wood with limited nutrition, no traditional place to root. Defying the “you don’t belong here” admonition, the grass presses on. How long it lasts or whether it flourishes is a different question. But today, the grass grows to defy conventional wisdom. As I was pulling the grasses invading the pineapple patch, I spared this lone blade, admiring her resilience and defiance in the face of what is expected.
