I didn’t miss it, I just didn’t want to know. Ukraine hadn’t started yet, but the Jan 6 Committee was hard at work. Dr. Fauci was refusing to say that the pandemic was winding down. That Rabbi threw a chair at a gunman and the hostages escaped. The whole vax/not vax tennis player was dragging out… plus life.
It seems like a lifetime ago but it was just two months. What the heck?
So, if you missed the asteroid missing hitting Earth, meh.
A rock two-and-a-half times the size of the Empire State Building “passed by” Earth on January 18. It was, scientists say, the kind of rock that took out the dinosaurs a gazillion years ago. It travelled at more than 43 thousand miles per hour more than a million miles away, five times the distance to the moon.
A miss is as good as a mile though it’s comforting to know that there is an entire government task force figuring out what to do, how to break the glass in case of emergency. And we’re probably not the only country doing so, but since the International Space Station collaboration is a little tense now (the whole China and Russia relations thing) you have to wonder if they’re all pursuing their own solution?
What would you do if the asteroid was going to hit? I just finished listening to the book Winter Impact or Impact Winter. In it an asteroid hits Earth and the result is vampires.
Really? We need some mental floss, I think. Or is that what bourbon is for?
