We have a love\/hate relationship with rats. Mostly we hate them, but then again, sometimes, they are our pets. They have enough systems reflective of our own that they are used in experiments, physical and behavioral. And sometimes we just study them because their interesting. Like this experiment: in a new study out of The University of Tokyo, scientists found that rats, like humans, just can\u2019t help but bop along to a great beat. The findings could help scientists learn more about the origin of music and the way it impacts our brains and bodies. \u201cWe all believe that music has magical powers, but we don\u2019t know anything about its mechanisms. The thing is, the rats listened to one-minute segments of Mozart\u2019s Sonata for Two Pianos in D Major, K. 448. Not sure what gets to the rats,but give it a listen. It makes you want to move. I guess Kia thought Hamsters were close enough that they star in the Soul commercials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
